The Dusk April Fools' gag is actually a real game and IT's listed connected Steam now
On April Fools' Day, Nightfall developer David Szymanski revealed his new externalise along Twitter. "Very excited to declared Fall '82!" He tweeted. "Dusk '82 Re-imagines Gloaming as an take chances/teaser in the style of Chip's Challenge and Sokoban. Use classic Nightfall items like shotguns, exploding barrels, and even The Soap to discharge enemies and make your way to the exit!"
The musical theme of a Sokoban-style take over the intense retrospective-FPS Dusk was absurd, course, but Szymanski was bespoken to the morsel, exit so removed Eastern Samoa to make up some fake screens for it:
But IT turns out that the screens weren't role playe, and neither is the game. Szymanski and publisher New Descent Interactive declared today that Dusk '82 is concrete, and pretty much on the dot as it was initially presented: Players will maneuver through "prick-sized levels" from a top-down perspective, evading and eliminating enemies, collecting keys, and battling direct to the die off.
It's real lolhttps://t.CO/tyzv1GhuNq https://t.co/IAxVoPm3O4April 8, 2021
"Enemies and their projectiles only move when you move and levels are full with a variety of hazards ," the Steam listing says. "Use smart planning to outmaneuver and eliminate cultists with classic weapons like the shotgun, riveter, crossbow, and the totally powerful soap. Use movable barrels and other explosives to blast through walls. Zip about happening conveyor belts to quickly reposition. Dodge bullets with the inhuman skill and agility only possible through turn-settled movement."
Dusk '82 will also admit an editor enabling players to create their own levels and map packs, the ability to slip in your own medicine (or podcasts or memes) for hearing from within the game, and Steamer Workshop support.
"That's what happens when you make games for FUN and not MONEY," New Blood Interactive gaffer Dave Oshry said. "heuheuheuhe"
That's not to suggest that Fall '82 testament be free-soil, for the record, although pricing hasn't been proclaimed as of notwithstandin, nor has a relinquish date. Szymanski hinted that it's non too far away, though, saying in the announcement preview (the real one) that he'll "figure you back hither in a a few months."
Dusk's actual April Fools' gag, by the bye, was part of New Ancestry's series of updated Steam icons for games including Dusk, Amid Evil, Disastrous Spacemen, and Ultrakill. You can read wholly about that, and a bunch of other jokes we found marginally tolerable, in our April Fools' day 2021 Roundup.
